Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2

This time i bought this awesome game called Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, i had very large expectations since the gameplay looked good when i watched it on Youtube. So i went to CDKeys Nexus and ordered it for 25€, and i ordered Metro Last Light too. That means when Metro gets out there will come another review shortly after the release. Well, enough about that lets get started.

Gameplay

The game is very familiar to the modern military FPS; linear corridors filled with thick enemies, strategically placed explosive barrels, and things exploding. But the difference here is that you’re sneaking rather than blasting your way through tunnels, or going directly into battle with long distances. It does get annoying that you have to wait like 10% of the entire mission, thats why i just took my rifle and went into open battle. (That is maybe the reason why i used like 2 minutes extra on each mission.)
And now to the Sniping, there you probably ask is it good? It is a game mostly about shooting people from great distances, so of course its good. The rifles feel powerful, and there's wind and bullet drop to consider if you’re playing on hard. Long, well-placed shots are shown with a slow motion bullet-cam. There are no violent, gruesome Sniper Elite style exploding heads here; enemies just get the bullet hit and fall over with a little mount of blood. The campaign is very good, you are a character named Anderson. Your have a mission in Croatia, but everything gets screwed up down there, and Anderson decides to take a additional mission on his own.
Though, i don't really like the Multiplayer, its cool that you can play two teams in a giant map. But come on, its getting boring sitting and camping in a window. I believe that they could have made the Multiplayer better, and maybe added some Action in the Campaign it gets to boring in the length, but the meaning of the story is good.

Graphics

Once again we have found a great game with the most amazing graphic, i think honestly this is one of the best graphics i ever seen. Its realistic, and the sounds just sound like you are there in the jungle.
I personally think that the graphics take this game in a higher level, i loved the graphics.

  • Campaign story is good.

Disadvantages

  • Multiplayer is very boring.
  • The Singleplayer needs more action.
  • To much sneaking in bushes.
  • To many waiting times, where you have to sit and wait for one to come back.

Final Comment

I would like finish the review by saying that Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is a average that may need a lot improvements before it can be called a complete game. The graphics are amazing, and the sounds are really realistic.
It cost 25€ at CDKeys Nexus it may be a game for you if you like to assassinate people undetected, but i my opinion i don't think its worth buying for people who likes a lot of action.

Planetside 2 - Review

1st person shooter

This time i will take a look at the game Planetside 2. There have been a lot of positive talking about it while it was in beta, and also after the release. I've been playing around with the game and i must say that it's a really great game. I've enjoyed alot of time in the space as Vanu Sovereignty and Terran Republic, even though people say you have to be loyal for your race, did i choose to try out two of the three races anyways. The last one is New Conglomerate.

Gameplay

The gameplay in Planetside 2 consists of the three races or clans who is in constant fight on three continents. The clans have to work together like a real team, since the whole game, other than being a normal FPS (First Person Shooter) with tanks, planes, cars, etc., it's also a strategy game, you have to take over bases to expand your territory, on same time you also have to defend your own bases so the opponents what get them. The rounds can take really long time, and when i'm saying really long time, i do mean it, i've seen some keep going for a whole weeks. I think it's a plus, it makes you feel like you are in a real war. I've been playing for hours every day, and i could use more if i had the time. I felt like the polictican who controlled the war, but also the private in the match. When you are playing you can choose between 5 classes (actually 6, but the last one is a bit weird).

  1. Infiltrator - Basicly a sniper/spy
  2. Light Assault - Fast running soldier. Light weapons and light gear
  3. Combat Medic - A bit like Light Assault, but doesn't do so much damage, but instead are you able to revive and heal your friends
  4. Engineer - Being like Light Assault and fixing the vehicles
  5. Heavy Assault - A bit slower than the Light Assault and with heavier weapons but does more damage
  6. MAX - This the special one, you can't spawn as this but you have to buy it in the base within you go to war. Imagine Iron Man, but bigger and better. Thats the MAX Suit, and it hurts as hell.
The controlling of the soldiers are like in every other FPS games, not as realistic as in Battlefield 3, but Planetside 2 have been developed with a quite smaller amount of resources than Battlefield. The controls of the vehicles are easy to dive into. When talking airborne vehicles, i always suck at it, but in Planetside 2 it was easy and i had no problems learning to fly (i believe i can fly.. I belive i can touch the sky!)

Graphics

The graphic in the game is okay, not more and not less, but compared to the scale of the universe you're playing in, i think it's quite fair. It's obvious that the main focus have been the characters, the big bases and the vehicles, as the other graphics ain't in same quality. A quite cool thing is that there is high quality planets and stars in the sky, that really makes you feel like you are in the space.

Advantages/Disadvantages

Advantages:

  • A lot of hours entertainment with friends and strangers
  • Big world
  • First Person Shooter and Strategy game on same time
Disadvantages:
  • Takes a bit of time to get used to the gameplay
  • Bugs when trying to change continent
  • No voicechat in your sqaud/clan

Final Comment

Planetside is a great game for everyone who likes FPS games, but on same time also likes strategy, as it's a big part of the game. Personally i would have given 20 bucks, if Sony chose to make it cost. For those who waited for the game to be finished, can easy be glad, it's a really great game that you can play for hours.

Orcs Must Die 2 - Review

It's time for a review, and this time it will be the game Orcs Must Die 2, by Robot Entertainment, that we will put in the searchlight. The game is the same style as Dungeon Defenders, that means it's a Tower Defense game, but instead of a top/down view, you play it as a 3rd person game.
Lets begin!

Gameplay

In Orcs Must Die 2, your task is to stop the orcs, trolls and other monsters before they have been through the level. You can do this by using traps, weapons, trinkets and other magical and clearly not magical things. You start out by choosing if you want to be man or women, each have some special weapons. I chose the man and got a pretty powefull gun that kills all the orcs.. Or something...

For every level you complete you will earn skulls, those skulls are used to upgrade traps, weapons, etc. in the spellbook, this can make a big difference, and you should take your time to do it. In every level you have a number of lives. It depends on the level and which difficulty you are playing on. The levels take place on mostly a castle and the area around. The longer you come in both the individual level and in the game itself it gets harder and harder. 

You have the possibility to play online both with some people you've never met, but also with your Steam friends, and this really make the game much funnier, as with many games that have both single- and multiplayer, so be sure to try that out too, if you get the game.

It's fast to start, and only and bit confusing menu, as it's difficult to get right to the online part of the game. But  it isn't anything you think much about.

That was a little short Gameplay part, but there really isnt much.. You slay orcs and monsters and it's hilarious.

Graphics & Music

The graphics are a toony style, which is perfect for this kind of game, so not much to say there other than it gets you in mood to play more. The game wouldn't have been much fun if it had Skyrim graphics.

Another thing to get you ind mood are the music. It really gets you in action mode, and is just great composed. And also the characters comes with funny lines a bunch of times through the game, which also give a plus.

Final comment

So overall Orcs Must Die 2 is a really good game, that you can play for hours and hours with your friends and alone. It's cheap and have cool graphics and music. I can nothing but recommend the game to everyone!
