Playerunknown's battlegrounds: Review

Are you looking for a game that is both intense, challenging and extremely fun? Then stick around for our review of Playerunknown's battlegrounds!

Before we begin please let me make it clear that Playerunknown's battlegrounds is still in early access, and that everything currently in the game is subject to change.

PUBG or Playerunknown's battlegrounds is a battle royal inspired game developed/published by Bluehole along side with Brendan Greene also known as the Playerunknown. Even though Playerunknown's battlegrounds is still in early access, they have managed to create a groundbreaking online shooter. Every game starts the same way, but battlegrounds have managed to make every single game feel unique from the start.

Gameplay

The game starts off by about 100 players jumping from a plane on to the island of Erangel, from here the players objective is to scavenge for loot and kill other players. There is action right from the start of the game till it ends. To make sure that players don't camp out the whole match, players are forced to move to even smaller and more open areas as a deadly force field closes in.

How you choose to approach the game is up to you. You might prioritize getting to the center of the circle, move slowly on the border of the forcefield as it closes or camp out in a house until you are forced to move, the possibilities are endless!

To make sure the game ends at some point the forcefield will keep shrinking until players die outside the play zone or are killed by other players, the winning team or player will receive the following message: "winner winner chicken dinner", which has no meaning to it other than it sounds good.

Weapons:

Playerunknown's battlegrounds offer a wide variety of weapons to choose from, there are currently:
  • 20 main weapons
  • 4 pistols
  • 4 grenades
  • 4 melee weapons

I'm going to go over some of the weapons from different categories.

AKM is a powerful assault rifle that uses the 7.62 class of ammunition. This rifle does more damage than the 5.56 AR's but with a side effect of having much more recoil. It is best used in single shot mode unless you are breaching buildings with it, which it is not intended for.

Kar98k this is currently the only bolt-action sniper rifle that drops normally on maps and sometimes in air-drops. as the other sniper rifles only comes in air drops. Because of this, the Kar98k is usually a very good weapon for long-range engagements without having the risk of going to air drops for sniper rifles.

M249 is currently the only LMG in the game, it fires the 5.56 mm NATO cartridge ammo.
The M249 currently only comes in air drops, and it seems there's a good reason to this because with its 100 rounds magazine and high fire rate the M249 is a god tier weapon if used correctly.

UMP is currently 1 of 3 SMGs in the game, the UMP fires 9mm rounds and is the perfect weapon for close combat because of its high fire rate and plenty of attachments that go with it.

S1897 The S1897 excels in clearing houses with quick and easy use. Caution is to be taken as missing one shot can easily spell out your death due to the pump action. This shotgun is a firm reminder that in real life, shotguns tend to shoot farther than most people estimate them to. Do not be afraid to take shots at people at a decent range away.

Pan A cast-iron pan purpose built for cooking up hate for your enemies. In game the pan is capable of killing an unarmored opponent in two hits on the body or one hit to the head. The pan will also block bullets fired at players while equipped and while unequipped, allowing it to act as a small shield.

Graphics

Playerunknown's battlegrounds use the unreal engine 4 which generally makes the game look really good, it also makes the weather have a big impact in the game. If it rains the map will feel foggy and gloomy making it hard to hear and see other players, this forces you to change the way you play the game which in general makes the experience feel unique.

Pros/Cons

Pros
  • Fun
  • Large map
  • Lots of ways to approach the game
  • Balanced weapons system
Cons
  • Bugs lots of bugs
  • Crashes a lot
  • Requires a good computer to run
  • Jumping in the game might piss you off at some point.

Final comment

Oh man! I can't wait to see where Bluehole brings this game, it's so much fun to play and it's only in early access, it's going to be exciting to see what weapons they will bring into the game, or how the new map that was announced some time ago will play out. Over all, I was really satisfied with the Playerunknown's battlegrounds experience.

Valve working on OS for gamers - SteamOS

Valve have over the last many months teased gamers all over the world with some big news coming up.

And now they just announced one of the biggest updates we will see from the giant gaming company this year; the SteamOS.
With the last years Steam Big Picture, Valve showed the world that they would compete with the gaming consoles, and with the SteamOS coming up, they are really going to give Sony and
Microsoft a hard time.

The system is built on Linux and they will use the power in the open-source OS to improve the computers graphical performance significantly, they will also work on audio quality and reduce latency. According to Valve, there is already several AAA-games coming for the SteamOS.

You will be able to stream your games to your big screen in the living room, right from your computer, plus the fact that there also will be games exclusively for the living room, made for the big screen.

A new thing is Family Share, which will make it much easier for you to share games with your family, so you can play the same games and gain achievements in games that you borrowed from your friends and family, for a few days, for example.

Last, but not least, the operating system by Valve will be free to download and use, exactly as we know Steam today.

There will come more announcements from Valve in the upcoming days!

Crusader Kings II - Review

We are back again for a review of Crusader Kings II, i bought this game 15 days ago but i been playing it around 7 hours every day in the 13 days. This game is very advanced its expensive, so if you ever should i buy it then wait for a special offer to come. Of course play the demo first and learn how to play its very hard, i used around 5 hours just to figure out how to expand.

Gameplay

Well, the gameplay is advanced you have many menus and you are controlling just like in any online RISK game, and on a way like Age Of Empire but you can't actually say its like any other risk game or AoE game. This game is based in the 1000-1200, you can pick any king, duke, count and prince. also it is only based in Europe, some of north Africa and a bit in the middle east. In the game you got the so called Military menu that allows you to see your available mount of units and you limited, the more Vassals you have the more military you can get. You can also deploy your units in the menu but that can also be done from a city.

The character you pick is you and if you get any kids with your wife, then the kid will become your new Heir and will control the Crown after your death. There are several ways to die on; On a battlefield among your armies, dieing of some infection or poison, get assassinated and get taken to prison and die some years after.
Its very difficult to hold control over a large empire, cause some vassals will think bad on you, and send a request for independence if you deny they will probably go to war if the faction is large enough so its a important thing to have overview of the factions in your empire.
You can use more than 1 day on this game, its probably the longest single player i ever played. I already used 5 days on my Irish empire. I'm already planning an invasion for Scotland, with my army of 12000 and my mercenaries there is about 8500 of them.

Advantages/Disadvantage

Advantages

- You can expand as long as you want.
- Its funny, and a very good game to play with your friends.
- It isn't lagging or crashing.
- I haven't seen 1 bug.
- You get a lot of experience of being a leader.

Disadvantages

- The game is very expensive.
- Some characters are way to hard.
- Galleys can't attack only transport.

Final Comments

So after all this game is amazing, and you need to be very good at strategies. You will also learn a lot tactics, and you can beat your friends in it which makes its incredible fun. The game can be bought on steam, or on other sites. Hope you guys enjoyed todays review, there will be coming another about Chivalry soon.

Orcs Must Die 2 - Review

2

It's time for a review, and this time it will be the game Orcs Must Die 2, by Robot Entertainment, that we will put in the searchlight. The game is the same style as Dungeon Defenders, that means it's a Tower Defense game, but instead of a top/down view, you play it as a 3rd person game.
Lets begin!

Gameplay

Just a picture of the OP gun
In Orcs Must Die 2, your task is to stop the orcs, trolls and other monsters before they have been through the level. You can do this by using traps, weapons, trinkets and other magical and clearly not magical things. You start out by choosing if you want to be man or women, each have some special weapons. I chose the man and got a pretty powefull gun that kills all the orcs.. Or something...

For every level you complete you will earn skulls, those skulls are used to upgrade traps, weapons, etc. in the spellbook, this can make a big difference, and you should take your time to do it. In every level you have a number of lives. It depends on the level and which difficulty you are playing on. The levels take place on mostly a castle and the area around. The longer you come in both the individual level and in the game itself it gets harder and harder.

You have the possibility to play online both with some people you've never met, but also with your Steam friends, and this really make the game much funnier, as with many games that have both single- and multiplayer, so be sure to try that out too, if you get the game.

It's fast to start, and only and bit confusing menu, as it's difficult to get right to the online part of the game. But  it isn't anything you think much about.

That was a little short Gameplay part, but there really isnt much.. You slay orcs and monsters and it's hilarious.

Graphics & Music

The graphics are a toony style, which is perfect for this kind of game, so not much to say there other than it gets you in mood to play more. The game wouldn't have been much fun if it had Skyrim graphics.

Another thing to get you ind mood are the music. It really gets you in action mode, and is just great composed. And also the characters comes with funny lines a bunch of times through the game, which also give a plus.

Advantages/Disadvantages

Advantages
- Great for pastime
- It's cheap
- It's funny
- Got some great music
- Multiplayer mode

Disadvantages
- A bit of confusing menu
- Can get really hard at points

Final comment

So overall Orcs Must Die 2 is a really good game, that you can play for hours and hours with your friends and alone. It's cheap and have cool graphics and music. I can nothing but recommend the game to everyone!
