ROCCAT Kone Pure (Inferno Orange) - Review

21.00.00

Again comes another review, this time i been looking at the ROCCAT Kone Pure mouse. It came along with our other sponsor gear from Roccat, we been testing the mouse and finally thought it was time to review it. Enough about that, lets get to the review.

The Look

When i saw the mouse, i kinda thought it was a bit small. It's not big but it fits well in my hand, the design on the mouse have an central scroll button with two buttons above it, the design of the buttons are only seen on roccat's gear. It have and overlay of black, the sides are orange and it have an roccat logo on the black layer. It have two backwards buttons on the left side, which make it a right handed mouse. I play a lot of FPS games, this mouse fits perfect for the fps games i play, cause i can turn the sensitivity like i wish. My hand isn't getting sweaty when i play, like it did with my previously Razer mouse. The mouse was created for the anniversary of the five year anniversary for their powerful performance mice.

Software and Customization

The software's macro editor can store 20 keystrokes per macro and up to 60 macros. However, disappointingly it doesn't record the timings of your keystrokes and you can't individually edit buttons should you mess up. These problems could certainly be fixed in a further update, but they're still things available in competing editors. It also takes a couple of seconds to apply any changes you make to the MS-3's 512KB of on-board memory, but other than that the software is responsive. The 5,670DPI sensor isn't as sensitive as some others, but we've certainly never needed more than this. The MS-3 weighs in at a hefty 127g, which is sadly not adjustable, and also sports four large Teflon feet. In use, the sensor is evidently, reliable as we experienced no jumping or inaccuracies and all of our smaller movements registered with precision. The large surface area and weight means the MS-3 isn't as nimble as other mice, but the flip side to this is that it can offer you a greater feeling of control, especially on softer mouse pads.

Final Comment

I really enjoyed my time using this mouse, through the entire year i had the mouse, i never came into any troubles or problems with the mouse. It will be worth buying, cause it can still compete with the new Roccat mices. The Kone Pure Color was created as a celebration of the five year anniversary of the original powerful Kone mouse. We were lucky to get our hands on the limited edition, Inferno Orange.

Hope you liked the review! more reviews and updates will be coming soon so stay tuned!
