E3 2014: Lineups and more
22.00.00Excited for E3 2014? Well, we can't blame you, because we are for sure!
Sadly we are not able to go there, so we have to watch from the sideline here in Denmark, but that doesn't mean we can't keep you a little updated on what's going on over there in Los Angeles from June 10-12.
Let's take a look at some of the games we'll see this year.
Ubisoft lineup
The French developer and publisher, Ubisoft, always have some interesting stuff in store for E3. This year is no exception. The biggest games to be shown from Ubisoft this year are:
- Assassin's Creed Unity
- The seventh game in the series of assassins. Unity will take place during the French Revolution and the assassin you'll control goes by the name Arno.
- Far Cry 4
- As a sequel to the top-rated shooter of 2012, Far Cry 4 haves go to really big to top that title. And that's exactly what Ubisoft plans to do with the game that takes place in a big open-world around Himalaya. Ubisoft tells us that this game will be the most immersive and expansive game in the series ever.
- The Division
- The Crew
- Want to take a ride across the United States of America with your friends. That's exactly what you can do with The Crew. Delivering a massive open-world full of highways, dirt roads, alleyways, you can get your crew together and take up challenges across the land of liberty-
To be honest, I think that Ubisoft is having the most interesting lineup at E3 this year, with some really amazing titles coming up, but let's take a look at the others.
SONY lineup
Wanting to keep it a secret from the world, there's no confirmed lineup. But I've found a leaked lineup, though, and it looks quite realistic, so let's take a look:
- Driveclub
- We saw Driveclub at last years E3 as Sony's new racing game, and eventually competitor to The Crew. It'll be PS4 and have a lot of focus on the social part of the game.
- Uncharted 4
- As a sequel to the very popular Uncharted 3 and it'll probably be set in Africa, eventually more specific at Madagascar, according to a teaser released last fall, watch it here.
- The Last Guardian
- Announced at E3 in 2009, said to be released in 2011, it's still in development. The story is about a boy trying to escape from a large expansive castle. The game will later revolve around the friendship between the boy and a giant.
Furthermore there have been rumors about GTA 6 and a sequel to Last of Us, only rumors though.
Afterall it's not a lot, but they'll probably surprise us.
Microsoft lineup
According to a source by the name Robert MacRawley, I've got my hands on a quite long list of announcements at Microsoft's presentation this year at E3. I recommend you to take it with a grain of salt as it might just all be made up by this mr. MacRawley, no one really knows for sure.
Here's some of the biggest games, check the full list here.
- Fallout 4
- The next game in the popular series from Bethesda Studios and Interplay Entertainment that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world. We don't know a lot about the 5th game in the series.
- Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
- Developed by Sledgehammer Games, the game takes place in a plausible future, where advanced technology and military practices have ended up with powerful consequences.
- Halo 5 (release date will be announced)
- Announced at last years E3, as a post-Halo 4: Master Chief game. At that point it wasn't supposed to be a big game, but later vice president for Microsoft Studios said they didn't want to limit the story within a triology.
- Halo 2: Anniversary
- As a celebration of the anniversary of Halo 2, a total visual remake will probably be announced.
- Forza Horizon 2
- With up to 80 hours of single player game time, the sequel will take place in an open-world set in some of the southern states around Texas.
- Ryse 2
- There aren't a lot of information available about Ryse 2. It won't be set in the Rome period any longer, the medieval times are next up. The graphics and combat system should according to Robert be beyond belief.
It all sounds great, but please remember that the source is not verified. And of course, most of those games will be Xbox only.
That's everything for now, but stay tuned for more information and updates.
