Skullcandy Navigator - Review
17.00.00Thanks to the danish webshop Dreams for Kids, I've been able to use this great sounding headset made by Skullcandy.
The Experience
After a week of usage I must say that the sound coming out of such a little headset basicly is amazing. But, before I go to much into how the music-quality is, I'll just tell a bit about how it feels to wear.
So, the headset might not look very comfortable, but well, as soon as they are adjusted for your head, you almost don't feel that you are wearing anything, even though if you use them for several they might get uncomfortable at last, but as this headset is made for music on the go, typically, most people won't get into this situation. The isolation are around the level you would expect for a pair of on-ear headphones, which basicly means that it is not really very much, but increases when you turn up the music. Others around you won't be able to hear you music, unless you turn it up to a level where you would get hearing injuries over longer periods.
Back to the important part, how does it sound?
So the Skullcandy Navigator doesn't disappoint in any way, actually, for me, it was more the other way around. To be honest I couldn't really see how such compact headphones should be able to have a quality of sound, and a deep bass like the Navigator have.

I'm satisfied with the sound-quality, and for those who want some technical details, I'll just go a little more into it right below.
With an impedance on 34 ohms, a sound pressure level on 104 dB and THD on less that 0.1% you do get quality sound out of the Navigator. The frequency response is 20Hz - 20KHz as in most of the headphones I would compare to this one, for example the Beats by Dr Dre Studio.
There is a thing on the wire called Mic3, that can take/make calls, control volume and play/pause the music, which is cool if you own a iOS device, for other people, it is just there without any real purpose.
You can adjust the headset to almost any headsize, even though if you have a really big head, you might get into trouble, I can only fit it when it is completely stretched to the biggest size, and I do have some friends with bigger heads than me, that had a bit of trouble wearing the headset comfortable for more than around 15 minutes.
Overall a good experience, there is space for improvements, but indeed a great headset for the price.

The Look
The Skullcandy Navigator haves a streety and a flimsy look, but it feels quite solid when having it in your
hand. The back of the earbuds, on my version of the headset, have a blank black texture, with silver borders. The earbuds are out of leather with a Skullcandy logo "engraved" in the leather. The earbuds can fold together so the headset will take up almost no space and with a weight on around 200 grams.

If you take a look at the headband, you will see that on the top it haves 3 grooves going from all the way over the head. Underneath, the headband is padded so you won't feel uncomfortable wearing the headset. With a metal band in both sides of the headband, where they split into the earbuds, you'll see a Skullcandy headset, like you also see their skull-logo on the end of the Nylon Braided cable.
The Mic3 is the control that can do quite alot of things, is a few inches below the earbuds, so the microphone is close to your mouth, but still not close enough to annoy you by hanging in your face.
With + and - volume controls on the front with a, suprisingly, Skullhead logo in the middle and a microphone on the back, it looks smooth.
You can get the Skullhead Navigator in a bunch of different colors; Black/Black, White, Royal Blue and Hot Pink.
Final Comment
Afterall a really great headset by Skullhead, that I'm very excited about.
The design isn't really my favourite and I would probably not choose the Navigator, because of the design, but at the price and with that quality of sound, I can recommend anyone to buy it.
